Local Shopping

I feel so grateful to have The Centre Road Bentleigh Shops the Patterson Village and Jasper/Tucker Rd shopping strips in Jasper Ward! In fact it was a major reason I chose to live in this ward area. I’m a keen advocate of local shopping and prioritise shopping in our locals shops - so many favourites - including the Bentleigh Sunday Markets!

Local shopping strips are vital to a thriving community as they provide residents with convenient access to essential goods and services right in their neighbourhood.

These shopping strips help promote a sense of community by creating spaces for regular interactions among locals, promoting a strong social fabric.

As a councillor, I would be committed to supporting our local shopping areas by advocating for initiatives that enhance their vibrancy and sustainability, this includes improving infrastructure to make these strips more accessible and inviting for residents.

By working closely with local businesses, community members, and other stakeholders, I aim to create a thriving environment where our shopping strips can flourish, contributing to the overall well-being and prosperity of our community.
